MEATY CLUCKERS

Detailing the journey and Great Egg-Spectations of our flock

MEET THE FLOCK

The newest members of the Meaty Cluckers flock! We added 3 additional chicks in spring 2023 – and only 1 ended up being a hen. The other two, A Nice Piece of Fist, and Mrs Gambolini ended up being roosters – and since our town doesn’t allow us to keep roosters, we rehomed them to a sanctuary where they can live our their rooster lives. After the roos were rehomed, Trashley suffered a head wound when we tried to inegrate her into the main flock – so we got 2 more pullets to keep her company.

The two hens to replace the roos are Dame Angela Hensbury and Kim Crawford, barnyard mixes. Dame Angela Hensbury (Ang) suffered a similar headwound before we adopted her, so naturally she was a fit for us.

As if I didn't have enough projects going on - I decided to build a rocketship for the chickens. The inspiration came from watching an episode of This Old House, and I decided to show Elon Musk that he's not the only one who can build rocketships. Overall the project...

Mirror Mirror on the Wall

Whose the prettiest chick of them all!? If you haven't already, get a mirror for your chickens! Best $10 we spent at a yard sale. They love the mirror way more than the chicken swing (which they still haven't used. Curse you #BigChickenSwing). Here's some pictures...
