It was a hot and busy weekend for the Meaty Cluckers. Friday afternoon the girls got their first outside time. A chaperoned hour to peck around the garden while Anne kept them protected from snooping hawks. They had a blast – and helped us fertilize the garden to boot. On Saturday they moved into their garage ADU and so far are loving all the extra space in their new cedar box. They have room to stretch and run, and haven’t figured out how to fly onto the rim yet (though House will surely be the first one to figure it out). The live cam was moved as well so now you can watch the girls run and cluck in their bigger space.
Sunday was photo day and weigh in day. Our garage was turned into the makeshift studio and the girls strutted their stuff doing their best Pidgey impressions. They all made sure to poop on the scale or backdrop at least once. House taking gold in the heavyweight category. The weights are:
- House: 191 grams
- Cutie Pie: 153 grams
- Carly: 149 grams
- Chickaletta: 121 grams
- Doorknob: 103 grams
- Bubbles: 91 grams
We also switched the girls to a new trough style feeder. They are warming up to it, but still prefer their original feeder. They’ll get used to it as they get bigger.
Below are a few pics from this week’s photoshoot.
